Fitting out a school for the future

Equipped with a rooftop social area, outdoor dining spaces and a recording studio, Edinburgh’s new Boroughmuir High School is more like the HQ of a silicon valley tech giant than an educational establishment.

We worked with O’Hare & McGovern, who were tasked with constructing the school, and architects HAA Design to create dramatic and inspirational spaces throughout the school.

Meeting a vision

We worked with the project partners to deliver and install an array of furniture by a range of innovative manufacturers such as Frovi, Quinze & Milan, Spacestor, Connection Seating, Ocee Design, and Space Oasis.

The result is dramatic and inspirational spaces like the school’s multifunctional heart – its full-height atrium.

Top of the class

Set on the banks of Edinburgh’s beautiful Union Canal, Boroughmuir High School is set to welcome more than a thousand pupils when it opens on February 18th 2018.

Working with the project partners – and often rapidly changing needs – to install and fit almost every piece of furniture outside the classrooms, we’ve created spaces that bring alive their shared vision for a new kind of high school.

We think it deserves top marks.
